Martin
has been an Independent Financial Adviser for five years. He
is currently Joint Managing
Director of
professional advisory firm Informed
Choice Ltd. At only
28 years old he is a Chartered Financial Planner and Certified Financial PlannerCM
certificant.
His
first book, The Money Tree, was
published in 2006 by Pearson Prentice Hall and became the WHSmith Business
Book of the Month.
His second book, Brilliant
Investing, was published in November 2007 by Pearson Prentice Hall and
also became the WHSmith Business
Book of the Month for January 2008.
His
third book, How
to Retire 10 Years Early, was published in December 2007 by
Pearson Prentice Hall and was selected as part of the Change your
Life campaign in The Independent (being published in Sunday 13th
January 2008).
Martin
is no stranger to the
media, writing personal finance columns for several publications. He
is regularly quoted in the
national press, including The Telegraph, The Observer, The Times and
The Independent. In
his capacity as a financial expert, Martin has been a regular guest on
BBC and commercial radio.
In
September 2007 he was named in the 50 Most Influential Financial
Advisers in
Britain by Professional Adviser magazine, for the second year
running. His firm, Informed
Choice, is one of only three firms to receive the Gold Standard for
Independent Financial Advice at the Gold Standard Awards
2007.
In January 2007 Martin was a finalist for IFA Personality of the
Year at the Professional Adviser Awards 2007.
Martin
lives in Surrey with his wife and their daughter. In his spare
time he enjoys walking in the countryside, scuba-diving and
fly-fishing.
